I have come across a lot of archives, references and notes over the course of doing research for the book. Many of these made it in to the book, many more informed the book, and some while interesting didn’t make it beyond my notes. In order to give them all some more deserved exposure, I am planning a series of posts of village archives and references I have come across over the the month of August, to coincide with Heritage Week (20 – 28th August).

Many of them include place-names and people’s names; together they make an erratic but perhaps useful and interesting treasure trove for people interested in the village’s history and might spark further interest and research. I’ve certainly picked up a few things in reading over the archives again with knowledge since obtained. As usual, if you have any more details of names or places, please do let us all know!
