    Michael,

I have two old photos, one definitely from the Lawrence collection, and another ( undated ) which was given to me as a gift from a Dublin photographer, now retired. Both photos are framed and hanging on our wall, and if you are ever visiting Enniskerry you are welcome to take a look at them.

Michael, now that you named everyone you’re all so recognisable (if that makes sense). The only one I don’t remember is Michael Smith.

        Hi Una
Michael Smith lived in “Glenside” on the Bray Rd until circa 1977 and also attended St Mary and Gerard’s NS. The family moved to Dundrum and I was still in contact with the until about 1990. I used to send Christmas cards but two years ago one was returned no longer at this address.

          Hi Una
Michael has a great memory to recall all those faces its been along time since we played football Fishers field.
          Michael
I don’t think I could have named 4 people in the photo even though I have the same one at home in a box. But it has been a long time since schooldays in Enniskerry and holidays in Valentia.

This is a wonderful collection of memories in words and photos.Pity we dont have more names to accompany the photos.I lived in Kilternan in the 40,50 and 60’s and remember a number of the faces including Kevin ?O’Connor in the band photo.A number of us would bus it up to play football in the Bog Meadow against the locals. We got to know many travelling in to work, school etc.on the 44 having organised our weekly ticket in transit. My Dad,a lorry man Charlie Walsh was a great friend of Robbie Kavanagh and drew sand from Coogans pit and turf from Glencree. Those were the days.Keep up the good work on your wonderful website.JW

Recognised the lady in centre of photo 50/59 as Mrs. Connolly of Wayside Cottages,Golden Ball, Kilternan,so I sent a copy to her son Ambrose in Shankill. He told me that the person on the right is her daughter (his sister) Maeve who married Aidan Maher of Glencree. On the left is Angela Wogan. They are sitting opposite the AOH hall in Enniskerry.Apparently these two families were good friends. He guesses the photo was taken around 1955.Maeve had another sister Gerth who worked in Willis’s grocery store/post-office in Kilternan.

Joe the families are related. My Grandmother Ellen Byrne was Molly (nee Byrne) Connelly’s sister. Ellen married Paddy Wogan so Ellen and Paddy were Angela’s parents. Ambrose and Meave are Angela’s first cousins.

      Hi Una and Joe .
I’m just seeing these photo’s for the first time today – lovely pic of my Gran & Mum and Angela. All the photograph’s are fantastic and bring back fond memories of the village and the characters that contributed to so many great childhood and teenage experiences.
Interestingly, our daughter Alva who is at college in Australia brought the page to my attention through a facebook message. We’re living in The Seychelles at the moment and I spoke to Mum
( Maeve ) earlier today and had a great chat about them – small world !

      Keep up the great work

Great to hear from you Jack. We need to sit down and tape Meave someday! I paid her a visit about two years ago with Mick (Wogan), she has so much knowledge and memories of the village and it’s people it would be great to get it all down on tape or at least on paper!

I am very interested in this website as Thomas Henry Willis (1877-1955), his son Eric Willis (1907-1990), and Eric’s sons Geoffrey Willis (b.1955) and Michael Willis (b.1957), still living in Kilternan, are related to us (their Canadian cousins). Geoffrey & his wife Andrea know me but we have lost touch. Can someone please pass on my email address . to them. Would love to connect to the Willises of Kilternan and come back for another visit. Thankyou.
