Were your ancestors convicts?!
Another archival resource has just become available for tracing ancestors. Úna Wogan recounts what she found.
The Latter Day Saints have just made available the Irish Prison Registers 1790 – 1924 (it may take a minute for page to load). It is possible to narrow the search using “Residence”, and so can be used to search for people from Enniskerry. Searching by residence (of inmates) shows that unfortunately there are quite a few guests of various prisons from the Enniskerry area! Below is an example of the information you get. This is a Wogan I found. I don’t know who poor Winifred is, but it’s the earliest Wogan I’ve found so far relating to Enniskerry so it’s a useful resource.
